Jonathan Monk films Sol LeWilt

"Jonathan Monk has produced several films based on two-dimensional works by other artists in the last three years. Several of them used artist's books bySol LeWitt. As Monk takes the expression "filming a book" literally, and also uses works by other artists, his films raise questions that address procedures, manufacturing processes, authorization and authorship. Given the fact that historical Conceptual Art was primarily concerned with precisely these questions, the choice of LeWitt's books as models is particularly revealing, as LeWitt's work dates from a period when Conceptual Art's proposition still had to be tested. Monk takes up this project again in his films. He literally delivers a revision of LeWitt's method." I want to implement this approach talking the expression of "filming a book" literally into project by using books as props. I strongly believe that the books themselves can bear a lot of symbolic meaning in them, so, I want to highlight it in my work
